School Meals
School meals are provided by Leeds Council Catering. We use a website called School Grid for the payment and pre-ordering of meals. You can order with your child at home or they can order each morning in class. Please note, if you order at home, the choice cannot be changed in school and you will be charged for the meal.
How to Pay
The cost of a school meal is currently £2.44. We operate a cashless payment system therefore all payments are made online. You will have the opportunity to pre-order meals up to 7 weeks in advance. All children must be registered, including those on packed lunches and children entitled to free school meals, and there is no minimum top-up amount.
Free School Meals
All children attending a state funded infant school in reception class, year 1 or year 2 are automatically entitled to a free school meal regardless of income. Once your child moves to us from an infant school, they will automatically lose their entitlement to Universal Infant Free School Meals. If you want your child to continue getting a school meal they will either have to pay or claim for an income-related free school meal.
Your child/children can have free school meals if you receive:
- Income Support
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
- Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit with no Working Tax Credit and have an income, as assessed by the Inland Revenue that does not exceed £16,190
- Support under Part IV of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999
- Employment Support Allowance (Income Related) (ESA-IR)
Your child must be in school full time to receive free school meals. If you think you may be eligible, click on the link below to download an application form.
